VARIETY: 100% Alicante Bouschet
REGION: Margaret River
VINTAGE: 2014
COLOUR: Alicante Bouschet differs from other grapes, in that is has red flesh as well as red skin. The resultant wines produced are vibrant magenta in colour.
AROMA: Inviting aromas of candied rhubarb, poached red pears and anise, are accompanied by subtle hints of citrus blossoms and strawberries
PALATE: The palate is voluptuous with a slick, silky texture, boasting tones of glazed cherries and apple strudel, crisp dry finish with an elegant yellow peach acidity
WINEMAKING: Premium parcels of our exceptional fruit are harvested in the coolness of the night. The fruit is crushed straight to our press and the juice gently separated from the skins. The crimson juice is then cold settled for 2 days, racked and fermented in stainless steel. The wine is aged on lees for 3 months for additional flavour and complexity, after which it is clarified and bottled to preserve it’s freshness and generous texture.
